As a Class A CDL holder, I found that to be an interesting read.

    Uh oh

In the northeast, there are a few unions who have worked very hard ( and successfully) to not have drug testing. this will be interesting to see who wins out. Might come down to who has more money or power.

My bet is the law will be passed with a loophole. So both sides win.

I carry a Class A CDL also.Have been pulling doubles for 16 years..If you dont do drugs you have nothing to worry about.Plain and simple..I know i dont want to be driving through Gary In. or Downtown Chicago next to another truck doing 65mph and have him run into me cause he was all messed up on drugs or alcohol..I have been on my roof once and i can tell you guys it isnt fun...So i say test away...

+1 there are a lot of things that these trucks carry. I know cause I have my Class A with hazmat endorsement. Personally, I would like to be assured that the guy carrying explosives or an over sized load is clean. Imagine the destruction that one guy could cause if he was all doped up on junk or meth? espically in a populated area!

I had a sober 4 wheeler put me on my roof..If that was another truck i probley wouldnt be here to talk about this...And the messed up thing about itis usually the guy or girl that is all messed up walks away with minor injurys while the person doing the right thing gets killed or seriuosly injured
