Depends--You want 8800 RPM's or 8500 RPM's.. The Rotax is a much better performer but you have to lighten your valve train to run this ECU.
I run the Riva and PBJ runs the Rotax, after riding his ski I wanted to upgrade.

ive blown pistons with the rotax, as its not got the knock sensor to put the ski in limp mode if something goes wrong,

you blown your pistons because your setup was wrong . dont blame ROTAX RACING. you dit not follow the specs for the ROTAX ECU.

IN MY PERSONAL OPINION THEY BOTH ARE GOOD BUT RIVA IS MORE RELIABLE DUE TO RETARD TIMING FEATURE WHICH ROTAX ECU LACKS. ALSO RIVA COMES OUT CHEAPER SINCE YOU DONT HAVE TO SPEND THE EXTRA "MULAH" FOR UPGRADING THE VALVE TRAIN. BUT IF WHAT YOU ARE IS ALL ABOUT PERFORMANCE NO MATTER WHAT, THEN ROTAX ECU IS FOR YOU , SO YOU HIT UP-TO 8800 RPMS AND GAIN MORE BOOST OUT OF YOUR CHARGER.......THUS FAR SPANKING THE COMPETITION....LOL....
