That be it, but I would like to offer these 3 tips to better enhance the mod...

    1. When you trim the outlet pipe, follow the curve of the box and make it as FLUSH as possible...
    2. Instead of 3 small holes, use one LARGE 5" hole saw on the baffle wall...
    3. No need to trim the Jpipe, leave it alone for now...

    ***Leave the box full length...

Of all the waterbox mods and flow work that I have done, those two items offer the best flow.

Cutting it actually increases the backpressure on the unit. And when it dumps HIGH UP, its turbulence disturbs the airflow through the hole. Leaving it stock length helps airflow round it and out....So leave it stock length for now, or even have the tip flared a tad, and you will be good to go...

I know that nothing has been proven and it would be very difficult to prove it but I was reading through a thread the other day and there seemed to be a trend of the flared Jpipe causing overheated and blown boxes. Now i have nothing against the Flare coz danny has proved it flows better. Also the overheated boxes were shortened if i remember right. Im not sure if this makes a difference or not. My box sounda awsome with the thru hull. I completly gutted it, cut the out let back and the J pipe by 1 3/4 inches and then shortened it by by 6 inches. Sounds badass can hear it miles away!!!! R88

Because shortened boxes require you to modify the box, then no two boxes are the same. With that said, some have had problems while other have not.

The conclusion has been the if you gut the box as above, a flare is a perfect "compliment"... YET if you shorten the box to any length, trimming will work better.
