Yamaha OEM Rideplate and Pump Shoe Inserts
What are the new OEM inserts made of? Stainless? Aluminum? I bought some R&D inserts and they are pretty cheesy. I don't think I would go through all the trouble and put them in. I am getting ready to install the pump tunnel reinforcement and was wondering if the new stock Yamaha inserts are better.

Fercho and Pistonwash both recommend to go with the OEM 2003-2005 inserts. They fit alot better.

stick with the stockers for the Pump Shoe, Ride Plate, and Trim Tabs. Sometimes your better off with OEM stuff - Aftermarket stuff is good on most stuff except this and rideplates (dips/ unballanced . )
Save your money - the OEM pump shoe inserts are more than enough to get the job done.

The 1300 inserts will fit a 2002 1200gpr correct? I'm replaceing inserts now, And the oem inserts on my 1200 are not connected.
I am thinking about using some 80/20 stock, Trimmed down 5/16 on the end, so it sits down in the hole, tapping the center 5/16 -18 using stainless bolts and glueing the inserts down with a bar in between them? I have been puttering with the idea and have one made.
As you guys can see I have more time than money right now...hahahaha.. I also have a shop of tools and stock to use!!

Ok. I ordered the OEM 2005 inserts. I have the R&D inserts sitting in my garage. More junk not fit to put on the ski. Oh well. As long as it is just nickle and dime shit no big deal.
