My new project 650 to 780

I just can't leave things alone.
Anyhow here's what I have planned. 650 is going to transform into a 780. I'm gunna do some more shade tree porting on the cylinders. I don't seem to have any problems yet on my triple project with the porting I have done to it. I cant really say what the porting alone does for it, but I'm really pleased with what all my work has done so far. This will give me some insight into what the porting will do. I plan on installing the short dry pipe, and stock pro reeds w/ reed spacers. The reeds are angled up towards the cylinders more than stock reeds. The reeds are also longer than stock reeds, and should flow better. To help the porting to get more rpms, I'm gunna install a pro cdi. I will be installing thinner than stock base gaskets to increase compression and reduce the squish clearance. I will be splitting the 2 piece head gasket to aid in the same. Will be using the exhaust mani from my sl780 and its carbs and intake. The jetting should be close to what I'll need. I'll be adding the sl780's f/a, and may cut the skirt off of the cover. I'll install the longer throttle cable for the 780's carbs and intake, and will also install the extended pump and longer steering cable. I also have a 4* wedge to install on the pump. I'm getting the ext/wear ring and a ride plate from beerdart. All other ext items I now have. I'm gunna use the stock 4 blade progressive impeller and stator to see the improvement w/ those stock items. They are in good shape. I'll also be using a hot seat waterbox.

I'll be truing the hull, and gelcoat it in white. Will strip the upper deck and I'm not sure what it will look like when done. I'm lookin for rub rails (purple) and handle bar pads. Been lookin at the red one w/ mfd on ebay. Will recover the seat also. Would like near stock graphics. Can get somewhat creative there.

I'm also on the lookout for some trim too. I'll do it if the price is right.

I keep forgetting you live in Nevada. That's illegal in most states.

Looks like a nice project Star. Finish the current one before you divert all your attention to the new one.

Jonjonwells has a new in box trim kit with everything in it. He was going to use it on his project but I 'm not sure now, no harm in asking.

Thanks! I'll ask, but why wouldn't he use it? I think it's a nice upgrade.

BTW Trim is for men, and reverse is for girls.
