    Kawasaki ultra driveshaft dampner

Has anyone experienced a bit of vibration at idle speeds with their kawasaki ultra? it goes away with a touch of throttle and I think it might be that the Dampner is just worn a bit and not as tight as when new.
    Anyone replace one yet?
    thanks

Put this in the Ultra 250 performance forum, there is more traffic there, good luck.

Hi There, I think the Vibration may be comming from the Front Comparment cause that's where mines seems to come from when Idle.

Spoke to a Tech at Kawi and Coupler on all he has checked is kind of hard to go bad. I think the 100 Hr check is more due to the Excessive HP on this engine verses what the Coupler usually handled before but anyhow, Shouldnt be the coupler, Maybe something else Vibrating. When you flush, Try to stick you head in the Engine Compartment to see if you can hear any Vib's.

    Good Luck

Kawi's dampner is super sturdy. Even my 20-yr old ski with gizzilion hours have the original dampner. Check for any excessive black rubber dust if you really thing the dampner is going south. I bet not.

    Not the drive dampner

    Hey
Thanks for all the ideas on where to look.
Finally pinned it down, its the muffler or first waterbox. The baffles inside are rattling around. This is the second one this ski has had ,the first one leaked. This one must have been bad from the start cause it made the noise from the time I first had it out.never even thought the muffler would be bad.Sounds like crap but at least I know its not gonna blow.
I'm barely out of warrantee wonder if Kawasaki might help me out?
    Thanks again guys.

I've had only good luck so far with Kawi and Waranty, Once they even replaced a Mirror that had some Cosmetic defect but anyhow, I think it helps if the Dealer is on your side and is willing to work for you?
