I´ve been using mine this whole season and it is great. I hook mine in the lifejacket using a blackdiamond snaplink. Then when I need to use the gps I just twist it with my left hand so I can see the display.
Since it has the rolling wheel for the menu system and zoom it is easy to handle with only one hand.
Remember to bring spare batteries... That is the only drawback, it uses quite much energy even though I never use the light for the display.

Thanks for the reply.I come from a long line of garmin GPS's..I know how much batteries they use up. I think i have heard that if you use the Lithium batteries you will get much longer life- you will have less Money in your wallet too.
I used to use Lithi's in my nikon F5 SLR.. they lasted for ever.
I guess since you keep it attatached to your vest you have had no problem with water getting on or in it.Good deal.I dont have many lakes around me just the ocean and the Bay's LI sound. I'll get the coastal unit with all the software included. i think it's either the 300 or the 400..
I'll have mine shortly..
thanks for the reply.
