How To Remove Fuel Tank On GSX LTD To Clean

Guys had the ski out for its 1st run awesome little machine will take me little time to get use to coming off a GPR whats the go with these thumb throttles.

Anyway after jumping some surf ski started to run rough down low mid and top still pull hard just the bottom end was ruff pull the filter out to find allot of crap in there from the tank i had the filter clean before the ride.

Do I have to remove the engine out or will the tank fit through the front hood area so i can clean it out.

Or is there a better way to clean the tank.

    Mike

Take off the filler hose at the tank. This should give you enough room to get inside and clean it out. No need to pull it.

GSXL you will have to pull the stearing to get out the fuel baffle. Then syphon the gas out then take a rag on a long claw and wipe out the bottom. To pull the tank you will need to remove the engine and all the other stuff because the tank wont come out with the baffle in it.... To get t the baffle out you might need to remove the mpem and lift the front of the tank and slide it foward. Replace the vent lines and check valves thats how water is getting in.. Also pull the carbs and clean the pilot jets water wont pass through them

The only way I could get the tank out of my GSI was to remove the sender unit and slide it back and out the engine compartment. There is no way I could get it out the front. As PEST said the steering has to come off to get the sender unit out. All in all a fun day of trying to get your hands in places they can't really get to.

Guys what could it be. Has the tank drained cleaned carbs cleaned and new fuel lines installed.
Went out yesterday the ski performed the same pretty much straight away its round till about 3000rpms then talks of fine one the highs kit in.

When you feather the throttle down low its guggles and runs rough then little more throttle problem gone makes it really hard to ride in teh surf with no bottom end go.

Would the P V have anything to do with this i aslo read people saying replace the vent lines what and where are these.

The accelerator pump orifice on the side of your carbs are clogged. This allows additional fuel to squirt in the carbs when you first accelerate. When it falls on it's face or stumbles this is it. Whoever cleaned the carbs didn't do the accelerator pump.
