Reduction Nozzle - Ring Fit ~ wobble

JUst wanted to know if the rings are supposed to fit really snug. I have one that has two set screws, but the ring doesn't seem tight in the bore. Is that normal?

Anyone have pics of their RIVA nozzle?

Don't over tighten the set screws or the metal ring will become oval. You'll be able to feel a lip inside the nozzle if you run your finger in there. Just tighten them down snug.

I tighten mine down 1/4 turn at a time. they are also very easy to strip so dont over tighten as keith said.
It sounds like your ring might be oval or your sets might be striped.
I have had to retap a new hole on nozzle before and will work with no problem.

The ring should fit fairly tight without play when you insert it.

I bought mine from ebay. The parts look pretty good, wan't sure how the RIVA's are. This one has set screws, 2 holes tapped in both the ring and nozzle. As received the rings moves about the set screws (wobbles or pivots top to bottom) - like it's not totally bottomed out.

Are the RIVAS tapped on both parts too?

Seems like 3-4 screws would have been better than two?

No the nozzle is the only one that is tapped..

I know some guys that have had problems in the past with the nozzles stripping out have drilled completly through the ring and nozzle and used a rounded head type bolt with a nut to secure the ring..

Mine are so tight I dont even need the set screws! Taking everything out takes me 3 mins, getting the ring out takes me 10 mins. Its ridiculous, never heard of them becoming oval shape guess thats my problem.

A small thread hijack here if you don't mind. Roughly, what are the rpm changes when you change ring size 1mm?
