Just got back from testing. Shew dialing this thing in takes a little time. I think I found the sweet spot and edited the first thread acordingly. We did not need to cut so much out of the rod like I thought it pitches the pump too high causing the water out of the pump hit the reverse bucket quite a bit and drastically drops my RPM. Right now with the rod adjusted to 5 7/8 inches eye to eye and one touch down on the VTS is the sweet spot at 8080 RPM. Only topped out at 73.1 MPH so I didnt gain any top speed, but holeshot is much better. If I trim it all the way up it looks like the water out of the nozzle is hitting the reverse bucket possibly slowing me down. I will continue to test and keep you informed. I will keep the original post with all the corect info so no one is searching through all the posts to find what they need.

Update: My ski is now taking off like a rocket!! VTS was a great investment. No top speed gained, but holeshots like crazy to win the race. A friend with an RXT stage 1 kit could not believe how fast mine took off. His would launch like mine used to. By the time he would land I was already gone by several ski lengths.

    Update:
I got the right switch installed and decided to cut my old start button housing so it would match and I didnt have to spend any more money. Wish I had a dremel to make it a cleaner cut though, but once the VTS cover was in you can not see the uneven cut. NOW my VTS is comletely done. Well worth the work.

Take the reverse bucket off and trim that baby up! just for fun! try it out!, I used to have a 99 gsxl and my buddy had a 98spx and 96 xp, we used to trim up the vts rods and have a 100+ ft rooster tail, it looked unreal and that was only with 110-130 hp, could you imagine what a 215hp rooster tail would look like!! unreal! do it and post some pics!! true you will lose some top speed, but its all for looks and turning some heads

Did you have to buy a complete rxp harness or just the harness for the VTS?

Well I did buy the whole RXP harness and swapped over some of the wires were longer to the RXP harness but afterwords we thought to ourselves why didn't we just swap the wires needed from the RXP to the RXT harness.

All in all you can just add the few wires needed for the VTS to the RXT harness into the MPEM. You can look at the wire schematic and add those into the MPEM. You just need the wire and pins. Pretty easy.

    Hope that made sense.

THANKS GUS . JP sent me to your thread - I am getting ready to drop a 215 motor from an RXP into my GTX. I am planning to canibalize everything off the RXP I can, and I plan on putting the VTS on the GTX, so this was extremely helpful. Thanks.

Seems this is becomming more and more common. I am glad I could help out. I am sure I said this before, but will say it again. This is one of the best mods that I did to the ski. Especialy for turning and holeshot improvement. Good luck with the install. Any questions just ask.
