    Phone scam to beware of!!

I received this today from a friend , I'm not sure of how valid it is...
    This is the condensed message......

    DO NOT USE 90 #
If you receive a telephone call from an individual identifying himself as an AT&T Service technician who is conducting a test on telephone lines. He stated that to complete the test I should touch nine(9), zero(0), the pound sign (#), and then hang up.

    REFUSE AND HANG UP!!!
By pushing 90#, you give the requesting individual FULL access to your telephone line, which enables them to place long distance calls billed to you, along with other service's such as 900 numbers that have phone account billing access.

The scam has been backtracked to use originating from many local jails/prisons.

This information was verified with UCB TELECOM,PACIFIC BELL, MCI, BELL ATLANTIC,VERIZON and GTE.

DO NOT press 90# for ANYONE.
