    Rave valve question.

Ok, is it normal for it to take about a mile @ WOT for the raves to open? Because I will be at full throttle (6500 rpms) for a mile or so until finally the raves open and it will climb to 7000 rpm's. It's like this I was out on the lake today for about 1 1/2 hours and I broke over 56 mph (gps) maybe 4 or 5 times, with a max speed today of 59.9 MPH. Is this normal or should the rpms always be going to 7000 rpm quickly? It really bothers me that it takes so long to get to max speed. The raves were cleaned right before this outing. the red adjusters are screwed all the way down on both of the raves. Would adjusting the red adjusters flush make them open faster? Oh one other thing with the rave valve caps off, the ski gets to 7000 rpms quickly like I would think it should be.

    Thanks in advance
    Ryan

set them flush. by having them all the way down, it takes more pressure in the exhaust to open them up. set them to flush and see what happens. if it still presists, they might need a cleaning again.

I would look at the rave solenoid. Raves should be cranked down, maybe a few clicks off the bottom. Also make sure they are clean and the diaphrams are in good shape. Pull the line off at the selinoid and blow into it (with the caps off) do they move. Or pull the caps off and push on one valve, does the other move?

Something is wrong, have you checked the water reg?

Clean the check valve with carb cleaner (it's underneath the carbs at the rear of the engine). I've heard of them sticking from oil/fuel mixture and restrict (full opening of RAVES).
