If you had a choice between these 2 skis which one would you buy and why?
    The 2002 Polaris Virage i or the 2003 Polaris Genesis l .
    Which is easier to modify?

Injected engines have very little room for engine mods, look at the carbed PWC for mods.

What are you looking for in a PWC?

The Genesis i is the largest PWC made by Polaris, rated for 4 passengers. It is however the smallest 4 passenger PWC among the various brands. Engine rated for 135HP, fuel injected three cylinder. Very stable on the water, happy to carry 3 people.

The Virage i is a 3 passenger PWC, but is happiest with two people on board, with lots of comfortable room, and stable. The Virage I is a 95HP two cylinder engine. Economical on fuel, but not the fastest model on the water.

Virage TXi is the 140HP version of the Virage (same engine as the Genesis).

Models without the i in the name have carburetor versions of the engines (Genesis, Virage, Virage TX).

In general, and this applies to most PWC, the passenger rating means the machine will be happiest with one less person on board than the maximum rating.

Each model also has a max weight rating, total for all passengers. You want to be well under the max weight, to maximize stability on the water, especially at low speeds.

I would love to have a Genesis but only because I have a big block 1350cc engine to drop into the belly. I'd install all Virage components (carbs, wiring harness, stator, CDI etc.) and go see what she'd do.
I don't know anybody who's done anything like that to the geni but I'm thinking killer off shore racing unit.

I have never looked closely at the Genesis hull. Maybe I should

I know it is a little wider and longer than the Virage hull.

Is it as flat as the Virage, or a deeper vee?

Notwithstanding the PERC on some model years, are the carb'ed Genesis and Virage essentially the same, engine and electrical?
