Thread: RXT-X ?

  1. #1

    RXT-X ?

I'll start with the Mods....Riva free flow exhaust, R&D Grate, R&D plenum filter, Solas 15/22r prop and new Wear ring.

Have got 70hrs on the clock and for the last few rides it has died only 70kpm 6700 revs.... the first time out I shut it down put it on the trailer when I got home to flush it it was fine.....Second time out was running it with no Probs for an hour or so, jumped some waves and again it started running very rough.... I rode it back to the ramp and as I was riiding across the water(Glass) i opened it up WOT and it came good..Took it to the mechanic and replaced spark plugs as they didn't look to good and also put the solas prop on.....Took it out to test prop and it was the same like it was running on two cylinders and smelt fuely took it to the shop Supercharger wheel could be turned by hand so they rebuilt it went out again today... Still the same,

It seems as though its only running on two cylinders and struggles under load..It has been suggested its the coil packs...Any advice. Sorry for the long story....

    Thanks

I wonder if they rebuilt the SC the right way? Maybe they rebuild it but didnt set the slip. I would send the SC to Jerry to get checked out.

You might want to check the compression. The rings on at least least 1 x-boat have severe wear. And if you could borrow a know good coil pack, you could swap one at a time while you were on the water. But, 6700 rpms does sound like a slipping SC or a boost leak... Ron

This is a good point. It would be highly coincidental for there to be another problem on top of the s/c slipping Check the slip moment on your s/c.. Can you still turn it by hand?

Its in the shop now they are going to swap out the coil packs with a T-x in the shop.. I have my fingers crossed that this is what it is..the same Shop rebuilt a sliping charger on a mates ski and did an excelent job so I'm hoping its as simple as coil packs....
