98 GTX Limited Fuel consumption HELP

    Hi,

I'm just a guest here and I'm taking a 98 SeaDoo GTX Limited on a trip to Lake Powell this weekend and was wondering how much fuel these ski's use. The tank is 14 gal and I'm thinking of bringing an addtional 15 gallons. How long can I expect that to actually last?

    Thanks in advance!

Oh, I did want to add that I did a couple of searches first before I asked, I don't think I'm using the right key words.

If stock expect to get at least 90 miles to a tank, depending on how much you ride wot. Keeping the engine below 5500 rpms will get you the best fuel economy.

    Welcome!

A lot depends on how you ride. We had four familys at the lake over the summer and we were using a tank a day on each machine. They were going non stop though. When you start riding it hard or doing a lot of towing the fuel goes down fast.

Did you go on that 90 mile ride we went on at Norris about 4 years ago? GTXX and I were using about the same amount of fuel...I was on my 02 GTX. We added $10 worth on the way back just to make sure we had enough but afterward we found out we didn't need it.

No never been to Norris, I've read a lot about it and understand some of the eastern canucks make it down there. I think it needs to go on my bucket list.

Went riding today, probably the last ride of the season. Left with full tanks just cruising the river until half tank then turned back. No hot doggin' just a scenic cruise, three hours total. $125.00 to fill both machines when done
