Thread: Help...Reverse Spring
09-17-2008, 05:18 PM #1
Curious just got my new prop in and was checking on the rear pump area and noticed that my spring that goes from the nozzle to the reverse bucket is gone......
Good or bad thing did a search couldnt find anything.....
I guess this spring is designed so that the reverse bucket cant just drop at speeds or what....
ok I did find some info on it inbedded in some other posts.....Now my question is how in the hell did this thing pop off and will the 07 spring fit on the 08 P-X boat...Part number on the OEM is 271001328
oh and is the warrantied or should I just buy the 8.00 and change part.....

mcrowley (who is MIA since he sold his ski!) had this happen to his 2006 RXP as well. He rode several times without it and it was fine, but I'd recommend picking up another one. I've never lost a spring, but have had some other encounters with reverse. Trim up and shoot enough thrust through the nozzle and you'll either break the bucket or it will drop. Don't ask me how I know both scenarios

the spring also helps in engaging and disengaging the bucket. I would install the spring for sure...
