    Testing a PWC starter

I am rebuilding a 750 ZXI and I bought a used starter (supposedly works). Is there a way to just hook it up to a batery to see if it works? I don't want to get everything together and have to disassemble parts to put in a different starter.

Sadly it may spin on the bench but once its placed under load {actually on engine cranking it} may not.

very simple - just connect the pos (+) terminal to a battery with a cable and ground the bolt/nut on the back of the starter to a good source. if it works it will turn over immediately.

with no load its hard to tell though. an engine will require a healthy amount of torque to turn over.
