High Fuel Prices Helping The Economy???

I work for an oil well service company. I had lunch with one of my customers today, and he brought along a couple of his investors.

Of course, the talk focussed on the screwy financial markets and oil prices. Something I was surprised to learn was that some companies are moving their manufacturing back to the US because shipping costs have risen so much due to fuel prices.

My wife went to Home Depot and bought some new patio furniture today--made in the good old USA.

Has anybody else seen evidence of this?

Yes! I have been hearing a lot about foreign companies looking for U.S. manufacturing outlets to supply goods from cheap furniture to car parts to sell in the U.S. due to high fuel costs.

If oil keep falling I don't see how they can keep gas prices high. This morning oil is up $2.30 to 99.84 and gas *should* be around $2.50.
