    Rave valves

I am doing the routine maintanance on my wifes 02 GTXdi. When I went to assemble the rave valves it calls for a lubricant called Molykote. Does anyone know of something to be used in its place I can't seem to find it.

Don't worry about it. The Molykote is like a dielectric grease (in consistency), and helps seal the rubber to the plastic. They never leak though without it, on the newer RAVE setups.

Thanks for the reply, while reading the shop manual it also says to check the oil level for the counter balance shaft. But nowhere does it tell you where to check it. I have no clue just learning about this ski. On the 02 there is metal to plastic contact.

Do a search. We had a big drama discussion as to why the plug was installed. That thread has great pics for you to locate the plug.

Drama is putting it nicely I think I'll check it now and add if needed it is the 947 engine.

You do not need to change/check the counterbalance oil on a 951. It's built in to the oil injection system.

Dude, check the dates on this thread. Phantom was just posting to everything he could find so he could run his post count above 50 to start peddling his parts.

It may have been out of date but that does not mean it was not incorrect.

The CB shaft oil is NOT supplied by the oil pump on the DI. It contains its own supply of oil like the carbed 951 though there is a vent hose on it that could cause confusion. The air pump on the back of the CB shaft IS supplied by the oil pump.
