Out of the box Solas ?

Just received two Solas Dynafly impellers and one measures up pretty good but the other has one blade off by 2mm on the trailing edge. Now reading other topics on impellers that could be as much as 200rpm off on one blade. Do I bend the prop to match the rest or leave it alone. I plan on installing it on the boat and getting some RPM readings and then sending it off to Island Racing.
Not sure what approach I should take?

I wouldnt bend the blade on a Dynafly, it can change the diameter

The blade that needs bent needs to be bent downward so the diameter I think wouldnt increase. From what I am reading the blade is pitched to low so bending it down would increase the pitch.
I just would like them all equal.
    Thanks

Go for it, just check it before you run it in the boat. If you have a spare wear ring you can check the air gap on the bench.

Thanks for the info, I will definantly check the gap between the impeller and wear ring.
    Thanks again.

I know on the concord series they use a asymmetrical blade design ( 2 blades one pitch and one blade one pitch), However im not sure if the dynafly is set up this way or not.... Hope this helps

That's odd. Do you have any links/info that states that? I know that a lot of their props (out of box) come unmathced, but that's not an intended design... At least not for a 3 blade prop.

Based on a few things I've learned in fluids class that's not the way to get a better pump??? I'm interested in learning more...

Anyone else have info on this?

If you don't have a prop pitch gauge you can't do it correct. This is why I went to the expense to have gauges made and sell them in the for sale section of this form.

I have never heard that before..ever. Who told you that? All 3 blades are supposed to be the same or they will cause an inbalance and affect performance. Thats why we have them balanced and trued to keep them in balance.
