    UMI throttle lever adjustment???

I just installed a UMI throttle lever just because i picked one up cheap and after starting it found that the idle is way off (real hi). Where do i begin to adjust it - by the lever or where the cable connects to the carbs or is this a idle adjustment prob.??

Start with the lever. I think it is probably a bad lever. I'll give you $10.00 for it. :P

yo cuz, you didnt answer my question, its not a bad lever, i believe i just need to get more of the cable to the lever so it will have an affect on how much tension is on the throttle spindle. Make sense?? im sure its an easy fix, i just want to know the proper method. Anyone else out there that can give me the low down on this? im off today and tomorrow and would love to go ride.

Easiest adjustment is at the throttle lever, so start there. If you get tto the point where there's only a few threads left then back it up some and start adjusting at the throttle wheel. You want to end up with about 1mm of slack on the lever and the throttle butterflies full open slightly before the throttle lever would hit the grip. Don't adjust the idle until you've got that slack in the throttle cable!

ive noticed that i dont have but just a couple of threads left on the lever so ill begin to adjust on the throttle wheel now. Is it common to have to adjust the idle after all said and done?

Not unless you've changed something on the carbs or CDI.
