There are no mods to improve speed without modifying the engine.

They are very reliable if properly maintained. i.e. fog your engine and disconnect battery when not in use. Turn off gas and run carbs dry for winter storage.

Let us know what year you are looking at and we can tell you specific items to address that BRP failed to when it was built.

Jet kit filters head and impeller, easy bolt ons that add to performance. Keep water out of the hull make sure the diaper is on the exhaust flange.

01 XP was my first ski.. loved it.

I sold it only to buy an RXP when they came out.. Regretted selling it ever since.

It owned most other skis before the RXP came out.. Mine kept up with a GPR 1200/1300 no problem (in its day) and it shoots out of the water with ease. You will love it.

I would rank its reliability second only to yamaha, but a WHOLE lot more fun to ride than ANY yamaha.

Design of te Decade says it all. Im not sure when they changed over to black fuel lines. If the Fuel lines are gray change them now before they ruin yor weekend or worse yet engine. Check all the exaust bolts if the rubber gromits arround the mount bolts are bad or putting ot black dirt replace them and remount the pipe. These are the number 1&2 common problems that do the most damage.. I have and 2002 and it has black fuel lines. I think it realy is the design of the decade. Corners like nothing else rides better than most 2 seaters in chop but it can take getting used to. I love it. Its my second.
