RR retainers and lightend valves
Hey guys im about to chuck in a Riva ECU and rev this thing to 8550.
Now my question is can my valve train handle it?
I have searched many times and i am a bit confused?
I have the Rotax Racing retainers and i have the Ferrea lightend valves.
These made each valve 15 grams lighter than stock.
Am i good to go?

RR retainers (and shims) with lightweight valves are not good enough for 8800 ECU. One exhaust valve destoyed the head, the piston and other valves in cylinder 2. in my RXP-X just after 7 hours of use...

What lightweight valves were u using?
Should be sweet for 8600 though?

ferrea lightweight valves.
In my other racing ski I have 8600 ECU (riva) with riva's valve train upgrade kit (and OEM valves) with no problems.

I will keep that in mind. Were you running in rough conditions?
Anybody else have any experiences with the rotax retainers?

This is I got left from a ferrea valve Every thing was ok until the Rotax Ecu came into the setup. The rev didnt go over 8450 when this happend.
Now I know I am not the only one with this problem.

I have installed some RR ECU with Light valves from RR and spring and retainers and at the moment i didnīt had problems....
Anyway for me the better setup is RR light valves with Riva kit retainers valve kit. I have installed in my GTI (9.000 RPM and more thna 60 hours) and any problem.
