    2001 XLT 1200 New Owner

Just bought my first Yamaha. Has a bad rear cylinder. I checked the pv, still intact. Looks like something broke or got done in the cylinder. I checked the reed valve assy, piston, piston pins and clips still there. I dont see anything obvious. This is the second XLT1200 I looked at. Both have bad rear cylinders. Is this a common problem with this engine? If so, why? Also is there anything I need to look out for, I've heard I need to get the waveeater clips. What is the D plate? I guess I'm going to need a head, cylinder and piston as a minimum. Anybody got some good used parts?
    Thanks
    Joe

    Power Valve Removal

Took all the screws out, removed the shaft, and link lever. Should the valve just pull out now?

    cONGRATS ON YOUR NEW SKI.

yOU MADE A GOOD PURCHASE, i LOVE THOSE xlt'S.

    Maybe it's because I got 2!

Make sure you change out the stock intake grate, or it's gonna throw you off like a drunk trying to hang on one of those mechanical bulls...

There are allot more upgrades, but as the above mentioned, just do a search.
