    anodizing

    anyone know a way to remove anodizing from aluminum?
    Say if I had a purple part that I wanted just plane silver..
    Thanks

    The company in Philly I was talking about is Hillock Anodizing.

    just pay $20 for some powdercoating... get it in silver.. i know a guy if u need something done

    I might go the powdercoating route as well...we'll see.

    I was doing some research and a lot of people are saying that if you use oven cleaner it will take the anodized coating off....
    We'll see. If it comes out looking like ass I'll have it powder coated..

    Oh, can you powdercoat aluminum?

    the powder coater will know this:

    the process used to correctly powdercoat alum:

    you have to pre-heat the alum, it`s called out-gassing, when the alum colls coat it and stick it back in the oven, this way you will not get fish eyes or imperfections from the slightest bit of porosity...

    You could also reanodize it... Batter acid, aluminum foil, car charge and a dye of your choice
