    Looking for a new Ski

Hi guys new to this forum...

I just sold a my set of Skis and looking to do a single SKI now.

My wife wants a 3 seater and i want a 2 seater... (I win... two seater it is unless i find a steal on a 3 seater.)

    I had a 97 GTX 3 seater and 97SPX 2 seater

The SPX is by far my favorite ski i have ever found.

What newer ski best compares to that ski?

I need it to hold 2 small adults and alos would like to to be fuel friendly!

Are the DI Skis going to be the best on fuel?

How are the XP DI's they look great but was curious if two adults can fit.

My Wife and I fit fine on my 8' SPX!

What ski do you guys think is the most fun and best band for the buck?
Looking for a good hole shot ski as well!

    Talking Xp di

well it depends if the second rider wants to stay dry hahahah. if you put two peole on an xp the person on the back is pretty much sitting on an ejection seat. lol and they are very top heavy skis by nature so that just adds to the likely hood of both of you goin for a swim. but yeah they are funnnnnnnnn.

After reading your criteria I would say a RXDI would be your best bet.
Its a larger 2 seater that is very stable with 2 people and still has some speed (appx. 59-62mph).. Best bang for your buck would be a low hour 2001-2003 RXDI.. Should be able to get one in the $3000-$3600 range.

    XP DI

Anyone that can ride 2 up on an SPX can ride 2 up on the XP DI BUT, it's more fun riding alone.

Thats what i wanted to hear... yes it was hard at first to spin 2 up (and keep everyone on the ski) but I got it down and even learned how to board my ejected rider when the happened....

I have heard the DI's are not very reliable and how to troubleshoot when something goes wrong? what are your thoughts?

Should i stay away from the DI?

Never had a DI or know anyone that owns one but had an RFI years ago and it was bullet proof.

This is going to sound crazy, but if you liked SPX, try the Kawi STX-15F.

    Really a 3 seater??

I liked the nibleness and the QUICKNESS (out of the hole) of my SPX.
My 3 seater GTX with same engine just was not near as fun!

Maybe I will look for a SPX or older XP??

I vote for the 98XPL or newer. As much as I like the speed and hole shot of my RXP, it does not have the fun factor and nimbleness of my XPL.

If I had to choose between the 2, I'd get rid of the whale in a heartbeat.

    RXDI

My 01RXDI is; good on gas, solid 59mph, easy to ride 2 up, faster out of the hole than my 08GPR. At part throttle it is very good on fuel, at WOT it uses fuel like you would expect a 130hp ski to. Its more nimble than a GPR but not as stable or smooth in chop. I have only had it about 3 months, the wife likes it & I do too. I do hope to trade it in for a newer GPR or maybe a 03 or 04 RXDI or XPDI next year.
