Smile pair of 96 sltx leaking oil around oil sending unit

I was looking at only manual I can find and this polaris oil sending unit looks like it just sets in tank lose,do the grommets wear out?or is there a part missing??Is this a problem area or perhaps something I'm overlooking,The owner had it taped down with duck tape as it kept popping out on rough days and oil was going everytwhere.Any Ideas ,anyone else come across this?Is there perhaps another grommet that snaps in tank first like the sea-doo oil lines and tank fittings,or has the rubber oil sending unit just shrunk due to oil attacking rubber.Surely if both this gentlemans skis came from different owners yet both have same problem. It must be a polaris problem area???Thanks in advance for the help guys>Marvin

Yes it is a know problem. The best solution is to clean both the bunk and the tank with acetone and reassemble.
