    RXT GPS 70.4

I finally broke the 70 MPH barrier. Did a consistant 70.4 with 7 bars of fuel.
Heat 92 degrees humidity 46% elevation 356 ft. RPM's 7950-8000.I thought that was pretty good with 3/4 tank of fuel. Got to be too much traffic on the river to really try it again after fuel got low.
I really couldn't believe it. My previous best was 68.3 when it was about 70 degrees. Only thing I did since last outing was the through the hull exhaust, plug the holes in ride plate and put insulation around the tube going from the intercooler to the throttle boby.
I think getting that hot exhaust away from the intercooler was the main thing.

Was the 70 a gps or speedo reading ?

What is your setup on the RXT ?
Do you have an intake filter, toploader grate etc etc

    from a fellow RXTer....

Hello Shibby and thanks. The hole shot is pretty good but it wants to porpoise pretty bad from a dead stop. I have to stay forward on the seat until it gets going and then move back on the seat. I guess its because of the wedge.Don't know what to do to remedy this other than remove the wedge I may try it without it to see if that is what is the cause. It has really good acceleration after it gets going though.
Dave at Impros thinks we can get a little more speed with a repitch.Since I'm only turning 7950 to 8000 RPM's, I would like to get it to bumping the rev limiter.

Nice #'s Rocketman, I'm hoping to be there in a couple of weeks.
I too started porpoising after the wedge install from dead stop.

that's exactly why i removed my wedge.... and i was using the 2.5 wedge.

when i pinned my RXT from a stop it kinda unhooked from the water and would porpouise and skip a couple times.... kinda need to give a litle gas and get half way on plane then pin it.

good test would be to do GPS runs with wedge.... that same day go take the wedge off and do mroe GPS speeds. so if they result is a loss or a gain, and see what happens with porpoinsing.

i did this test recently..... wedge made ZERO impact on speed. no loss, and no gain... not even a tenth of a MPH

Thanks Good 2Go 32. Thats what I thought was causing the porpoising I will probably test it without the wedge and see if I lose any speed. Good luck with your mods and if you need any help just ask.

Did you do multiple runs to ensure it wasn't a spike? If so, that is interesting news. What did you do to true the grate?

this is interesting news? i don't think it is.... i sure as hell hope an RXT can hit 70.0 mph with those mods he has installed. if not, i'd return every last penny of them... that's what... about 2-3k worth of mods?

    just my opinion.
