Any fast RXP guys here ever 1320 their ski?

1320 = quarter mile. Sorry if this thread already exists, but I could not find one - at least not with any actual ETs posted anywhere. I found a few threads containing the terms "Quarter Mile", but none of them with actual times posted.

So, have any of you Stage III or Rude, or even turbo guys done this? I'm just curious what kind of 1/4 mile time an 80mph RXP would turn. I don't hear this mentioned a lot with PWC in comparson to cars. Is it even a good measuring stick or does everyone just care about mph nowadays?

Well there are some problems with 1/4 mile racing on pwcs.
    1. its hard to measure and keep constant a specific distance
    2. a standing start is hard to do with good holeshot

Most of the time We drag race 1/8th mile, from a rolling start. The Florida rally series use to have grudge match drag racing and look on the forum for Hydrodrag nationals in Sebastian, Fl. on the 15th of November. It actually is really easy to do if you have honest racers. It's not always the one with the most power, but who is fastest out of the hole just like earth bound racing.

JD 1 has hit 91+ in the 1/8th mile from a dead stop

I would think that most ski's would top out before the quarter mile.

I've alway been curious what people consider a drag race. To me it's dead-stop like the Hydrodrags or from an idle. But I see lots of folks do rolling starts of 10-15+ mph but that doesn't really test a skis ability to put the power down and get it moving.

What's the general consensus on this?

I have done accel runs based on the track log off my gps and converted to a spreadsheet. A good 80 mph ski will hit 80 at or before an 1/8 mile in a time of around 7.5 seconds. 1/4 mile times will be around 13 seconds.

i say from idle as its pretty hard to go from dead stop. Thats how people do it on the street. Rolling starts dont prove much except top speed. I also dont believe in racing for a mile or longer just so if u have a mph or 2 up top u can catch up

Its soposed to be IDLE... But some skis (yamahas) suck out of the hole... So they like to race from plane... Turbos usually take alot to get going too...
The best all around race ski is the RXP....
