    zxi 900 no spark??

there's a guy around the corner selling a 97 zxi 900 for $900 bucks. the motor is spotless he's a family friend so i believe him when he says it has less then ten hours on it. you could eat off this engine but for some reason there is no spark. he has a new computer that didnt help either. any other idea's of what could be wrong. id like to get it if it's worth it any help would be great.

The spark plug wires are a weak spot on the Kawasakis, the internal conductor breaks from vibration near the spark plug boot. With the low run time on this 'Ski, I wouldn't think that would be the problem. I'd suspect a bad connection, switch, fuse, etc.

Sounds like a steal, as long as a compression test proves that the engine is in good shape internally.

I don't think it would crank, but it's probably a double pole switch, meaning that there are separate circuits for ignition and starting. It would be worthwhile to test it.
