Pump Problem - stator vain chipped

Hey guys, take a look at the pump pics below. All veins seem to be OK except for this one. There is a lot of pitting on one side of this vein also.

Is this a common problem, can I safely still use this pump for the rest of the season without repair (just a little more cavitation), what is the better - repair or find a used one?

I never felt a difference while riding and would not have noticed this if I didn't physically inspect the pump.

    Thanks in advance

it will still ride without any real issues like that....but it may reduce performance a bit....the flow will become disrupted and can reduce your jet's efficiency a bit......so ...yes you can ride it....but it will hurt performance a bit...

it will fail pretty quick, water pressure will eat it away.

I think your an 03 GPR right ? If so those can be found CHEAP it is only $100 new (w/o bearing). Better off to buy a good used one. Any impeller damage ?

Almost looks like a cavitation burn - is it @ 10:00 when looking @ the back of the ski ?

This chip is not at 10:00 looking at the back of the pump through the nozzle. It would be at 2:00 - 3:00. The 10:00 vein looks like there may be a very tiny bit of cavitation burn, but very little.

This pump only has 25.5 hours on it, I thought it would have lasted a little longer. Maybe a bad casting?

MIne did almost the same thing, was cracked and chipped just like that with like a layering of metal on the edge, as if it came from a casting issue. I has some cavitation burn, but that was from after the piece had broken. Mine was a 130 hr "01. Good excuse to move up to an "05 pump.
