    Question 07 GPR Flush Noise

I just bought an 07 GPR and noticed a strange noise during flushing. When I first crank it up and start the water everything sounds fine. After running a few minutes I can hear a noise every now and then that sounds like the engine hits a higher note (not a miss) like a "ping". It becomes more frequent the longer the engine runs. I am assuming it's coming from the engine but don't know for sure. It runs great and is very fast, no odd idle etc... . Sound familiar to anyone?

    FYI,
You REALLY don't need to be flushing that ski that long...

-Pump bearings get very hot not being in water.
-Ski is flushed within a minute.
-Cold water is an enemy to the cat converter.

Flush only for a minute when running in salt? How much water should come out the two pee drains up front and how hard should the water supply be running? Thanks

Use an additive, such as dishwashing soap. it will get the salt water out much, much quicker. You don't need tons of pressure. Not much will need to come out of those pissers. If you trace those hoses, they go to the exhaust pipe outer cover.

hmmm, it takes a good minute or 2 to see water coming from the right side drain...

    is 2-4 minutes to long?

I`m just using regular house pressure with quick disconnect on full...???...

    Max 5 minutes...

you don't NEED to see water come out of every opening. If it's coming out the exhaust pipe, for a few minutes, that is the main one. Soap is your friend.

cool Thanks, usually when i start the ski, then turn on the water, the left side almost starts right away, crack the throttle just a bit then the right hand side squirts..., so now I`ll just run it for a minute, shut the hose off, lightly tap the throttle to expell water and it`s done!, Thanks...

Joe taught me to put a little dawn dishwashing liquid in the flush fitting right before turning on the water. It seems to clean it out nicely.
