Thread: SLX Gremlins

    SLX Gremlins

    ski starts once or twice then nothing unplug the the electronics box { 12pin 9 wires} plug it back in fires up instantly, one or twice. cleaned the plug, no help. Is unplugging replugging resetting something or is the plug bad? really don't want to cut plug out if I don't have to. thanx

    Arrow Polaris engine will not restart after running

    Confirm that the Red/Purple wire from the CDI is connected to the Orange wire terminal inside the electrical box.

    There was a Service Bulleting regarding the problem you describe, and the fix is to connect the CDI Red/Purple wire to the Orange wire terminal in the electrical box.

    All other Red/Purple wires are to be left as they were, only the CDI Red/Purple wire is to be moved to the Orange wire terminal.

    I tried that the bilge ran constantly and the ski wouldnt start any other ideas? its makin me crazier

    the terminal said orange w blk stripe but the wires going to it are orange. and why would that run the builge

    I think you moved a different wire.

    Find the CDI, find the Red/Purple wire from the CDI. Where does it go?

    I assume your bilge pump didn't run all the time before. Correct?
    I would have to think you connected the wrong red/purple to the orange.
    Connect the red/purple from the cdi to the orange wire.

    I'm in the same boat, odd cdi problem, timing "jumped" 180 out, rewired the cdi after discovering the engine ran if I switched the #1/2 plug wires, then the guy takes it our, runs about 15 minutes and now no start and the spark seems pertty week. startor ohmed out last time I checked it.

    I hate pricey electrical parts with no diagnotsics other then to 'repalce it"..sure is strange..so I hope somebody knows something..or has an old cdi box they can sell me on the cheap.

    I had the same bilge pump result following this advice..so I'm scratching my head here...

    it is the only pur/red wire with female spade coming from cdi. the cdi is new 2 weeks old. thanx for helping

    The schematic shows only 3 wires connected to the org terminal. 2 orange wires and the red/pur wire from the cdi. Is that what you have?
    Was the bilge pump running w/ engine off before?
    If it was, the bilge pump switch may be the problem. The switch will close the rd/pur wire to the orange to energize the pump w/ engine off when pressed. Try pulling the rd/pur where in connects to the org wire, and see what happens.

    there is 3 orange wires to the fused side 1 orange/blk feeding the fuse. the bilge pump only worked when running. a wiring diagram would be nice
