    Fuel sending unit repair

Hi. I have my SD. 96 GSX gas tank out to repair my fuel sending unit. Everything works now and I have proven this with my ohm meter.

My question is, when installing a new filter screen on the bottom does it have to be welded on with a soldering pencil/ soldering iron? It clips on very snug but wanted to confirm with you guys. Thanks

I believe the older models have to be welded on. Mine is only held on with clips.

I wonder if 96 is classed as an older model in that case?.

No, it just clips in place.
