Thread: Barnegat ride

Started out this morning from Lavallette trying to make it to Barnegat inlet. I figured If i followed Island Beach State park I would be ok, I stayed far from the bank and in the middle of the bay found myself in less than a foot of water. Needless to say I turned around and went back...not real familar with the waters, will hook up with some of you hopefully in the spring and do some ocean riding!

Depending on the tide some spots can get down to 6 inch or less . riding down the flats is great ! we go from the toms river across the bay and to the inlet alot on sundays in the summer .

sleaves, Welcome to the board!
What kind of ski do you have?

I know the spot you mean...to get to the inlet you need to actually go away from it towards the channel. If you try to make a straight run you'll find yourself in about 6" of water! There's a whole row of white hazard buoys, but they're difficult to see until you're right up on them...
