    Ocean riding

    Hey guys
The front latch on my 07RXP seat tends to unhook when jumping waves bigger than 5-6ft
Can anyone recommend the best way to secure hood & seat and install after-market bilges
Also, any tip on how to reinforce the front bubble cover? lost it twice
For now i just tape all over the open compartment, but looking for more permanent and cosmetic solution
    Thanks

There are several companies that make PWC seat straps, including High Surf Accessories

Their full PWC product range is impressive.

Randy at Watcon bought a Pro 785 that was a race ski, It had basiclly 2 rubber bunge straps on it(with one of the hooks removed)that end was bolted to the hood, with clips on the hull to latch it too.Looked good.

To secure the seat better I think you can just loosen the rr striker and adjust it more forward.. This wll move your seat forward and secure it into the frt latch better.

Tried this already, thanks, but still losing seat, especially when riding with someone in the back
I am looking for a way to attach straps with minimum damage to the hull

had the same problem with my 96GTX. K447 has the answer. These straps are used by rescue boats.

There was a company who sold billet latches but stopped making them. I bought a few of the chrome tie downs for a GTX LTD and mounted them to hold hood and seat on and to also tie on other gear.

Yes, thanks Mr K , but I would like to customize n improve these traps so they can be easily removed (when trading ski), and also to minimize the install damage & stress to the hull
Haley, can you pls post pics of your own set-up so we can compare
also you mentionned before extra offshore bilges, can u tell me more about it

Consider installing the strap mounts in such a way that they can be replaced with another item, so that the strap mounting holes are re-used, or covered, when it comes time to sell the machine.

For example, you could install small pop-up cleats or Kawasaki 2006 STX-15F cargo tie-down cleats when you are done. These are recessed, look nice, and provide a functional tie down for fenders or docking lines.

The Kawasaki 27012C HOOK, CARGO NET (G.SILVER) requires an oval hole be cut into the hull, but it doesn't protrude much when installed. This photo shows them under the sides of the seat near the back.

Yeh, nice idea, looks good, the space between the cleat bolts seems to match the width of the straps, and it could actually reinforce the hull area around the drill holes
i ll definetely look into this, thanks K
