    Camshaft sensor help

    Does anyone know if a camshaft sensor goes bad, does the egine run weird, and possibly cause the oil light/alarm to come on????

    It sounds like an oil pressure problem to me. Either too much oil causing the oil to froth, too little oil pressure or faulty oil pressure sensor(s)... Ron

    Yes, a bad cam position sensor can cause the engine to run poorly. I have had to replace one on my RXP already but it sure sounds like your problem is due to a bad oil pressure sensor.

    well it sounds like I have 2 things going on.. A bad cam sensor to make it run rough. and a faulty oil pressure gage to caus the oil light to come on...

    or hopefully not a legitimate oil pressure problem with engine damage causing it to run rough.

    With the lanyard plugged in press the set button five times and see if you get a trouble code on your display.

    The engine was just rebuilt and the 1st time I took it out. its running rough and after 5 mins the oil light and alarm came on.
