    starter check

Hi guys, whats the best way to check the starter while it's still intact on the engine? (Sea Doo 96 GSX). I recently removed engine to work on top end and am debating if I should just install new starter while I've came this far.

    Thanks

the trick question is "while it is on engine" put power to it and see if it spins.
that is about all you can do mounted. you could check amp draw but that has variables too.

now removing it and checking brushes / internals can tell alot.

just spin it till it quits....
