    getting a superjet next year

ok my neighbor and a few of his friends got some superjets this summer. and he let me ride his a couple of times and I've decided that i'm going to get one next yea.r one of my neighbor's friends has a 91 superjet that he said he would sell me for like $750. but i really want a round nose superjet but i'm not going to pay over $1500 for a superjet so my question is could i find a 96+ superjet for 1500 or less. or just go with the 91 and buy a round nose next year

Some larger guys prefer the square nose due to more tray roominess. The later ones need less mods though for good performance, like the 701 ones, and I think there was a twin carb version of the square nose around 95-96.

You might find a round nose for that kind of money, but it probably would be pretty beat or well worn. Seems like the older square nose ones are easier to find period, I think they made more of them. By the time the round nose came out, the sit downs pretty much ruled sales.

Well, that depends on what kind of power and speed you want out of it. I was refering to size as far as fitting into the tray while riding. You'd fit fine in either. If you get the 650, a Factory Mod pipe will make it seem like a whole new engine, they really do that much for a stock engine. Its the cheapest mod for the buck you can do. I would ride it stock for a season first to get to learn how to ride it before I added alot of power though.

Go to www.groupk.com to see alot of info on superjets, and what to expect from each style/engine. They have speeds listed that are pretty accurate from what I have experienced. Look under the resto mod catagory, the 633/701 catagory, and the other twins catagories.

the 650 will be fine to learn to ride it
but you will out grow it soon!
the good thing all sj motors will interchange
    the time line is :
    90 -93 were 650cc
94-95 were 701 cc with single carb
96-07 were 701 cc duel carb, w raider case unchanged other than color
08 has the same motor as 96-07 but different hull
also note 90-95 is called square nose 96-07 is round nose
my friend has a 97 for sale with alum pole and some other stuff for $2500

i think what I'm going to do is buy my neighbors friends 91 superjet next year cheep he said something like 750. i don't want to put anything into it cause the year after that I'll just sell it and buy a round nose if i do come across a round nose in the winter for under 1500 then i could buy it. all i'm going to do next year is just have some fun jump'n waves cause with my xp it's only fun with 5ft waves but its always fun with a superjet

96-and 97 had twin carb 62T 701's, but I'm not sure how many years after that before they went back to single carbs.

    If it runs....

good price change the ride plate and pipe and you will love it more. they are fun to ride but not as fast and not as stable as the bigger skis.
