    1953 Thompson Wood Runabout Project

    ANTIQUE 1953 THOMPSON WOOD RUNABOUT 1954 JOHNSON SEAHORSE OB. DEXTER SINGLE AXEL TRAILER.
    ASKING $3000 BUT ACCEPTING BIDS LOWER AND HIGHER WILL BE POSTING ON EBAY WITH $2500 RESERVE.
    all original 1953 thompson 12ft wood strip runabout. 2nd owner since 1960. excellent winter project ( does need restoration but hull in sound and original condition). topside should be striped and varnished. bottom and sides should also be striped sanded and refinished.
    1954 johnson seahorse motor 6 volt electric start. motor 1 year newer because it was the first year with e start. traded in 1953 seahorse. motor was running in the last few years but will need carb rebuild tune and possibly tear down.
    dexter single axel trailer.
    all items are original bought together, everything matches era wise. inspections welcome and recomended!
    will need to transport on flatbed trailer as tires on trailer are also original.

    OMG!

    I had a 57 Thompson just like that except I also had a 57 Evinrude engine (IIRC that is) Pretty sure it was a 'rude

    Even had the trailer with it.

    As kids, 18 at the time, we painted it Battleship Gray, too it out on a private lake, got stone drunk, and sunk it.

    WE stood on it as it went down. We were all Captains in those days. That and idiots too. lol

    This would be a great project. Maybe if you sell it we can get more of Bob's 785's.
