Riva Pro OPAS B/O's~Worth it ??

2006 RXP with essentially a 'Phase 1' kit + Riva Rear Exhaust system.

I am experiencing extreme porpoising, almost a hard "bucking" action at approx. 70~71+mph.
Feels like the Intake Grate is momentarily loosing its bite and planing under the scoop, then regaining the 'bite' and slamming the Hull down (repetitive/oscillating).
This is a really unnerving feeling, almost out of control at higher speeds.

Have already tried shimming the RPlate rear bolts down over 3mm w/o any change (scrubs 1/2mph) and tried removing the Pump Wedge w/o any noticeable change.

Has anyone tried the RIVA Pro OPAS Blocks to cure this "Porpoising" problem ? I had read somewhere they essentially extend the lateral planing surfaces enough to cure the problem but would like to get more info. from owners before I spend the cash on these.

Also considering sending the RPlate to Jim, or both.......

All comments and suggestions are appreciated.

    David

If you are talking about the porpoising problem I can tell you that the RE's help greatly with this condition.

The Xtreme porpoising is most noticeable on flat water.
Trim position makes no difference but I usually keep it a little above the middle mark.

Dave the NOPAS will cause this I think it is better to leave opas on than nothing. The RE's stopped mine from porpsing at speed.

I was thinking the same thing, will probably get the RE's along with Jim's RPlate majic.

That should smooth things out, 'ya think ?
