    E-TEC anyone

I was up early this morning, staring at the TV and flipping the channels. I got interested in an advertisement on some fishing channel. They were talking about this bad boy

    http://www.evinrude.com/en-US/E-Tec/...erformance.htm

I had heard about but never seen one in action.

    My GOD

They lined up 3 equal sized boats, two were 4 stroked (225hp) against this little baby and the E-TEC left on them and kept going!!!

Something like 30% less fuel consumption and over 100 lbs lighter.

Emagine one of these babies strapped to the back of your GPR

Interesting. Wonder how they are oiling the crank/rods and with their minimum charge scatter, how are they even oiling the walls.

Dont know Mark. I remember in the advertisement tho, towards the end they were talking about fail-safe monitors and actually cut the oil line. They said it would run over 5 hours without engine damage

the injectors on this engine are a two part injector one side for oil and the other side is for the fuel and the ecm controls both. if the oil side shuts down the ecm slow the engine to just above an idel and let you get back to the dock. The injectors sprays right on top of the pistons. That about all I know, I went with my dad to look at it when he was looking for a new boat.

wait until you see the difference on how clean it runs compared to yamaha or mercury. i think it's 500-600 parts per millionth compared to 38,000 and 56,000 respectively. and the thing is a torque monster
