Refer to the electrical diagram for your model in the Service Manual, and check the wires from the switch to the MFD, through the electrical box.

The MFD simply monitors the voltages from the Trim push buttons, and moves the trim display indicators. The MFD does not know if the actual trim motor is moving, just that the buttons have been held down. The longer the button is held, the more the display moves.

If your actual trim motor is moving, then hold the button UP until the trim motor clicks several times. Then hold the Down button until the motor clicks again several times. If the MFD is still not tracking the trim position, you need to check the wiring.

Look for corrosion or broken connections, probably in the electrical box, or possibly behind the MFD.

    What ski is this for?

Early models used a cable that went to the indicator mounted on the console.

According to the 1992-1998 Polaris Service Manual, only 1993-1994 had the mechanical trim indicator. 1995 onwards had the MFD digital display showing the Trim position.

Have you downloaded the Service Manual?

Does your indicator look like the picture on page 85?

I would trace the cable back to the trim motro and inspect it for a broken cable or connection first. Let us know what you find please.

I'd check the cable, they always break.
