    1300 slight bounce at 4,500-5,500rpm

My 2003 GP1300R has a slight bounch on flat water in the 4,500-5,500 rpm range. It does not matter where the trim is. The craft does not come out of the watter but it will bounce the nose up and down.

    Things done to the WaveRunner:
    Stepped sponsons
    Riva EFI controller
    D plate for cat removal

There is no water in the hull and it will happen with one or two people on the craft.

    Any ideas?

    Try shimming the trim tabs

Will that knock down my top speed?

It just seems like a new stock craft would not experience this. I don't remember it happening when I first got the craft. She now has 230 hrs on her.

Not near as much as bouncing around

Well, the strange thing is as soon as I open her up or slow way down she flattens right out. Top speed is very good. With just the mods listed I was able to hang with a 215 RXP for about a half mile then he started to inch by. This of course was from a roll on as those things are rockets out of the hole.

I wouldn't worry to much about a little bound at that speed if it smooths out, but if you want to get rid of it either shim the tabs or ride plate.

the bounce is quite common among gpr's

a few things can be done to help it

    1) shim the tabs a little BUT you MAY scrub some small speed on top

    2) try stepping the sponsons

    3) extended tabs can help but you WILL scrub small top end speed

    4) ride it like you stole it method works well as you will never really see the rpm range you bounce at..most on GH adopt method 4

you can also move forward on the ski....that will help settle it down....but yes...this is completely normal behavior for a GPR...

100% correct It's just a bad point where the ski is trying to carry the front end of the ski out of the water and can't quite do it. Easy way is to slow down a little or speed up to smooth the ride out.
