    1300 build

I decided to put together a 1300 motor. Riding will be mostly circuit and problay about 8 hours every weekend.

I would like any and all opinions on the the things I list here. I have been searching and reading and this build is based upon what I have read that works for other as well as a few things I myself thinks would help.

I would like to accomplish 80mph+

    protec tru and welded crank

    vilder flywheel

    Lowell ported cylinder/BB kit

    ported cylinder heads

    pump shoe sealed

    14/20 dynafly

    pump tunnel reinforced

    48mm novi's

    fixed valve mod

    cylinder bored to 87mm/nikasil plating

    hg bored

    flame arrestors with outer wears

    lowell ported crankcase

    vf3 reeds

    ff tubing

    R&D power valves

    1200 intake grate.

want to try e85 on this motor for better hot numbers

Would like to go with triples but help on that would be greately appreciated.

decided on a xlt hull but that might all change to a gpr depending!

I see a few contradictions in your list there. Please clarify:

What motor are you starting with? From what I can gather you are going carbed.

Contradictions like 80+ mph and a 13/19 impeller...

I was thinking a 14/25 but someone mentioned I might have wanted to go with a 13/19 instead.

This is not carved in stone. I do search and I do read. there are certain things Id like to understand before I choose them but from what I can research and other sites its not enough to even begin to give me an understanding. I would say this is a 50% hands on and 50% research thing cause you cant know completely everything by just reading

carbs and efi dont mix. pick one or the other,

if you go pv you may want to swap them for gas valves for what you state its purpose.

    tru and welded crank

    vilder flywheel

Lowell ported cylinder/BB kit ( osidebill has one for sale never used, msg him)

high comp stock cut head via lowell

    pump shoe sealed

14/20 DF maybe a 14/21 for chop if you got the power. * you need a 14/24+ to do 80 on a gpr and that wont be good for circut racing..)

    HO pump with 2" extension

    pump tunnel reinforced

oside bill carb work or novi 48's better still.

3 degree timing key ( for efi only) - get an advent t3 ignition if you go carbed setup.

    lowell ported crankcase

    vf3 reeds

    ff tubing

    Riva Gas valves

    1200 intake grate

    r&d 1300 sponsons

    r&d steering nozzle

hydro turf - stock mats suck on early models

UMI steering with after market bars if you can afford it with finger throttle etc....adds bling and has no slop.

Would like to go with triples but help on that would be greately appreciated. Mega maintenance compared to a single and not a good choice for a first ski.

decided on a xlt hull but that might all change to a gpr depending! go the gpr hull.

thank you much izzo.I have found a few atricles on this setup and have been reading up on what works and what dosen't. I have edited my inital post. Its obvious I will have to run a higher octane to get better hot numbers so I'm looking forward to it. With all the respect the single pipe gets I think I will run with that till I want more power and am ready for the triple upgrade. (I'll buy them anyway so they are here ready).

If you want speed the GPR hull is the way to go.
You won't make much speed in a XLT hull, expect
some low 70 mph numbers in the big 3 seater hull.
Adding triple pipes can add a easy 6+ mph. That will
get you much closer. Your mod list looks good, but
you will need to add a R&D ride plate cut by one of
the plate guys. If you really need a set of triple pipes
I have a nice set for sale. Ben

ben you are so right, i just treat the Jims plates and IR mod plates as a given since they are part of our staple diet around here.

Mr Sig, just keep posting your questions and we will all help out best we can, remember to take your time and plan it well. you better add a rule 500 bilge pump to that list, in fact i am installing one for me right now.
