Jerry... Would you recommend this with the addition of the extended pump kit due to the stainless wear ring What other advantages does it offer ??? I have looked into this before, but am concerned by a solid mount in the ocean chop???

You should really be more concerned with a stock mount in ocean chop.

If you ride in the ocean this is a must have item. The solid mount will keep the engine from moving around and keep the drive line geometry perfect. It's always a good idea to run a solid front mount when using a stainless wear ring. It will also prolong wear ring life if you are using a stock plastic wear ring. The stock mounts are too flimsy!

I've been contemplating changing my front mount out for a solid one, but I was concerned with aligning the engine. Is it necessary to align the engine when changing over to a solid mount?

Would probably be a good idea... or at least check the height of the solid mount compaired to the stock mount with dial calipers & shim the differance.

just remember when doing so that the stock mount compresses more as pressure is added compared to the solid mount

Great point there More reasoning to do an alignment for sure! Someone here needs to set up a rental program on the alignment tools

I thought the tools to align the engine were a little pricey. Anyone know what they run?

I think $350, 375, or 500. It was one of those last time I checked. Find someone that you can borrow it from!
