    Engine Rebuild

Hello, I am rebuilding a xl1200 non-pv Yamaha and had a couple of questions. I have attached a couple of pics. One of the head can this be re-used the former motor broke a rod and caused some damage. I purchased a new case and a set of used cylinders. The cylinder has a fresh bore but I noticed about 2mm from the top there is a scratch. Will this affect the cylinder?

The cylinder will be fine that is where the rings stop. The head has a dent that needs to be addressed.

Thanks for the info! One more question. I measured my bore today and came up with 84.29 avg bore. What size pistons should I order .25 or .50 over?
