    Flywheel ring gear

Anyone had problems with flywheel ring gear breaking free and spinning ? Anybody ever put a few tack welds around one to stop it happening again ?

you can get flywheels welded and balance ,but i don't think they weld the ring gear to the flywheel attach is a picture from www.judgemotorsports.com

I remember seeing something about a loose ring gear a few months ago. I think Ink had his fail. A few tack welds should do the job. The above picture looks to have welds at the ring gear/flywheel & hub/flywheel.

I had a flywheel dont by TJ and THOUGHT he welded the ring gear as well. I know he welded the hub like in the picture but dont know for sure that the ring gear was welded. I dont think it would be an issue as long as the flywheel was balanced afterwards. If its just a little bit out of balance at 7000+ rpms it will be hard on engine internals.

Thanks guys, I'm gonna just replace with stock stuff for now my ski has over 400hrs on it, so I guess its not done too bad. Once I took it off (with a proper puller) it looked like it had been pulled on the ring gear at some time. Maybe that could be the cause - well it would not of helped anyhow

Crash fixed me up with some low hrs parts.(great price )
