Lake tested - what to do now?

    Air 82 Lake 78-80
    some chop

    GTX : 8550-8600 rpms @ 68.0gps (was around 8450 pre X Charger)
    RXP : 7900-7920 rpms @ 71.6gps

GTX has 15/20r with -2 pitch
RXP has 15/20r with no pitch

should i switch props to make both run better?

ok i noticed the GTX has a 81 ring on

i am putting a box 15/20r in, which i am assuming should bring rpms down 200 from what they were..... so i can assume i should be running around 8350-8400 after prop change.....

what ring should i use 81, 82, 83 or none?

actually GTX has a 15/20 prop that inside says 15/21
you can tell it is pitched

A 15/20 will always be a 15/20, those numbers represent the ROOT angle of the blade on the hub. You can't change that number....If you pitch it, all you are doing is changing the trailing edge of each blade...And changing the edge is needed for any ski to be dialed in properly.

I am gonna assume that picture 4155, which is obviously bent UP, was the one on the GTX....Put that prop on the RXP...

Use the other end of the calipers you got, the smaller pointed tips...

And pick yourself up something like this little toy...

    update

    today's results:

    overcast, very minor chop
    Lake 75-77
    Air 77-78

GTX 7950-8000 70.7mph (no ring) out of box 15/20r, very nice acceleration
RXP 8100-8120 67.0mph (3/4 throttle) 15/21 indicated prop, slow acceleration

GTX: so i gained 250-300rpms with 81 ring removal to NO ring, i only had 80,81 & 82 rings... so gained about 3mph with 600rpm less - need to get to 8500-8550.... gotta be some more speed in her

RXP: was able to note that rev limiter hit by 3/4 throttle

    previous day test:

    GTX with 15/21 indicated prop & 81 ring showed 8550-8600rpm @ 68mph
putting in out of box 15/20 and 81 ring gave 7700 rpm around 67mph

note i also have a 15/19 blade to test if needed

    thoughts?

Ok I have an opinion on what you should do now. Take $50 go to Harbor Freight(or Sears) and buy yourself a set of dial calipers, those veneer jobs give me a headache
