After market plastic wear rings suck!

I had to pull the pump off of a buddy of mines ski to do some fibreglass repair after he hit a log and put a hole in his ski. A piece of wood got stuck on the prop so he idled about 1/4 mile to the boat ramp. I guess those wear ring cant take the heat. Check it out.

I think my friend is pretty tapped out on funds after this or I would grab it for him. Also I already have a stocker ready to go in.

NO problem Jim, It is not for someone on a budget forsure. I think it is much cheaper to replace plastic rings then have to have your props built up every year or so from SS ring.

That is why I have it, I have been holding out on installing it on my T-X as the stock wear ring setup is working good.

I so much look forward to the SS ring that comes with the setback pump mod. Then i will be able to wear out my props intstead of my ring.

Even the stock plastic liners melt like that if you get something stuck in it.

Not as quick as this one did. I have gotten many things stuck in my pump and never had one do that. Of course I dont keep riding either like some might. I always have the tools to pull the grate off and the pump if need be. Where we ride it can be a long way back with something stuck in your pump. Luckily he was close to a ramp.

WOW... Who may I ask is the manufacturer of that fine wear ring???
I have had debris caught in my pump and NEVER melted the OEM ring.
I was considering using an aftermarket wear ring for my RXP because
the new OEM wear rings are a pain in the $%*@XX!!! After seeing these
pics I'll just stick with the OEM rings for now!
